Focus

The Jurnal Kimia Khatulistiwa focuses in publishing research articles in the field of Chemistry and Applied Chemistry. The target is in exploring, investigating, and developing chemicals sources from local and/or Indonesian to increase the value.

Scope

Scope of the Jurnal Kimia Khatulistiwa is organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, inorganic chemistry, biochemistry, and physical chemistry. It also includes the topic organic chemistry natural product, theoretical and computational chemistry.

Peer Review Process

Articles published in Jurnal Kimia Khatulistiwa complies the following reviewing policies:

  • After approved by the editorial board, a submitted paper will be sent to at least two peer-reviewers. JKK employs  double blind  reviewing, where the referees remain anonymous throughout the process.
  • The submitted article must provide evidence for its conclusions and has important and interesting results.
  • Reviewers comments are then sent to the corresponding author for necessary actions and responses. The sugested decision will be evaluated in an additional board meeting. Afterwards the editor will send the final decision to the corresponding author.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Journal History

Jurnal Kimia Khatulistiwa (JKK) volume 1, nomor 1, diterbitkan pertama kali pada bulan Desember tahun 2012. Sejak terbit pertama kali, JKK sudah memiliki International Standard Serial Number  (ISSN) atau Nomor Seri Standar Internasional yang digunakan untuk identifikasi publikasi berkala media online atau elektroni, yaitu ISSN 2302-1077. Pada saat pertama kali terbit, ada sembilan artikel yang dipublikasi. Pada awal tahun penerbitannya, jurnal ini direncanakan terbit empat kali dalam setahun. Dari mulai volume pertama sampai dengan volume 8 tahun 2020 yang lalu, JKK konsisten mempublikasikan minimal 10 artikel dalam tiap nomor penerbitannya. Namun, terhitung sejak 2019 JKK hanya terbit 2 kali setahun.
