Journal History

JPASDEV: Journal of Public Administration and Sociology of Development was established as a platform to accommodate academics and other researchers in disseminating research results.

JPASDEV was also born in response to the fact that the only journal in the Master of Social Sciences Program (PMIS) at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Untan, published research results from graduate students.

In February 2020, a meeting was held to establish the journal within the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Untan. The team followed up on this meeting by establishing a journal management team and planning the journal's inaugural publication month.

In July 2020, the JPASDEV journal officially published its inaugural issue with seven articles. The establishment of the JPASDEV journal was formalized by Decree of the Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Untan, No. 286/UN22.5/PJ.01/2020. The decree stipulated that the journal management team would consist of a person in charge, eight editors, two copy-layout editors, and nine reviewers (Mitra Bestari).

The naming of JPASDEV, with its English acronym, reflects the team's idea and dream of achieving global recognition for the journal.
Hopefully, the JPASDEV journal will contribute to the dissemination of knowledge, particularly in the fields of Public Administration and Development Sociology.
