Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

1. Jurnal Pendidikan Matematika dan IPA is published three times a year in January, May, and September. 2. The submitted manuscript must be in the field of mathematic, biology, chemistry, and physic; also, natural science mathematic education, biology education, physic education, chemistry education, and natural science education. 3. Submitted manuscripts must be in English or Bahasa and adapted to the template, prepared in Word.doc version, and is an original work. For manuscripts that use English, please include a proofread certificate from the institution. The script can also be translated by author. Please attach an IELTS certificate with a minimum score of 6 or a TOEFL certificate with a minimum score of 500. The manuscript can also be translated by JPMIPA. For translation assistance by JPMIPA please contact email jpmipa.fkip@untan.ac.id. 4. Manuscripts must be accompanied by a minimum of 20 up-to-date library references and more than 80% of primary source references or journal articles. 5. The first author and/or corresponding author must be sign a statement of authenticity or Copyright Transfer Agreement (CTA) of his work and upload it to the OJS system in add supplementary files. 6. The manuscript is submitted from register panel. Please attach an additional file containing the names of four potential reviewers (include full name, institution, email address, and WhatsApp number). Structure of the manuscripts (AR) 1. Title. The title should be clear and informative. 2. Author's names and institutions. The author's names should be accompanied by the author's institutions and email addresses, without any academic title. For a joint paper, one of the authors should be notified as the corresponding author. 3. Abstract and keywords. The abstract should be less than 250 words. Abstract contains of the clear elaboration of research purpose, method, and result. Please provide the abstract in both English and Indonesian versions. The keywords should be of 3-5 words or phrases. 4. Introduction. This section explains the background of the study, a review of the previous researches in the area, and aims of the manuscripts. Importantly it should also show the significance and novelty of the research. 5. Methods. This section describes the appropriate tools of analysis along with the data and their sources. 6. Results and Discussion. This section explains the results of the study. It should be presented clearly and concisely. Author(s) should explore the novelty or the contribution of the work to the science education literature. 7. Conclusion. This section concludes and provides policy implications, if any, of the study. The conclusion(s) should be at the same order with ones discussed in the body of the manuscript. 8. References. This section only lists all the references quoted or referred to in the paper manuscript. The reference list must match the order in which it appears in the manuscript. References listed are no more than 35. Structure of the manuscripts (SLR) 1. Title. The title should be clear and informative. 2. Author's names and institutions. The author's names should be accompanied by the author's institutions and email addresses, without any academic title. Methods: "¢ Research Questions (RQs): Clearly state the RQs the SLR addresses. "¢ Search Strategy: Detail the databases searched (e.g., Scopus, Web of Science, Google Scholar) and the keywords used. "¢ Inclusion & Exclusion Criteria: Specify the criteria used to select relevant studies. "¢ Screening & Selection Process: Describe the steps taken to identify, screen, and select the final literature based on the established criteria. "¢ Data Extraction & Synthesis: Explain how data was extracted and analyzed from the selected studies. 6. Results and Discussion. This section explains the results of the study. It should be presented clearly and concisely. Author(s) should explore the novelty or the contribution of the work to the science education literature. 7. Conclusion. This section concludes and provides policy implications, if any, of the study. The conclusion(s) should be at the same order with ones discussed in the body of the manuscript. 8. References. Specific Writing Format Title page The organization shown below should be followed (in the order given): Title of the paper (14 pt, uppercase bold, centered) Author name(s) (11 pt, capitalize each word) Author affiliation(s) (11 pt) Address(es) of the institution(s) at which the work was performed (11 pt) Name, postal and e-mail addresses of the corresponding author to whom the revision or galley proofs of the paper are to be sent. (11 pt) The affiliation address for each author should be indicated by superscript Arabic numbers (1, 2, 3, etc.). Abstract (12 pt, bold, italic) Articles must include an abstract of 250 words or fewer. The abstract should not repeat the information already present in the title. The abstract should be written in English. Keywords (12 pt, italics) Immediately after the abstract, provide a maximum of 5 keywords written in alphabetical order (capitalize each word). Please avoid general terms, multiple concepts (avoid, for example, and or of), and abbreviations. Only abbreviations firmly established in the field are eligible. Introduction (12 pt, bold) The Introduction presents the purpose of the studies reported and their relationship to earlier work in the field. It should not be an extensive review of the literature. Use only those references required to provide the most salient background to allow the readers to understand and evaluate the purpose and results of the present study without referring to previous publications on the topic. Method (12 pt, bold) Method sections should be brief, but they should include sufficient technical information to allow the experiments to be repeated by a qualified reader. Only new methods should be described in detail. Cite previously published procedures in References. Result and Discussion (12 pt, bold) The Results section should include the rationale or design of the experiments as well as the results of the experiments. Results can be presented in figures, tables, and text. Reserve extensive discussion of the results for the Discussion section. The Discussion section should be an interpretation of the results rather than a repetition of the Results section. The Results and Discussion sections may be combined into one section when substantial redundancy cannot be avoided if they are put into two separate sections or when a long discussion is not warranted. Acknowledgments (12 pt, bold) (optional) Place Acknowledgments, including information on the source of any financial support received for the work being published. References (12 pt, bold) The References section must include all relevant published works, and all listed references must be cited in the text. References listed are no more than 35. The reference list must match the order in which it appears in the manuscript. References should appear as: Book with one author: [1] Sihotang, K. 2019.
